Ambler Main Street Opens Event Season with First Fridays in Ambler

Ambler Main Street (AMS), the non-profit entity responsible for producing family-friendly events in the Borough of Ambler, announced the kickoff of the 2013 event season with the debut of First Fridays in Ambler, starting May 3rd!

“First Fridays are really a community celebration”, said Allison Wolf, Co-President of Ambler Main Street, “Ambler has it all –stroll our historic streets, meet shop owners who truly care about your experience and grab a bite at one of the ever-increasing restaurants that are part of our town. With the return of the Kids Zone this year, you could never get this experience at a shopping mall”

Businesses in the town are open late and have special promotions. First Fridays features a Kid’s Zone with free activities and games for the kids. The evening is reminiscent of the kind of block party held in neighborhoods years ago.

“This is an opportunity for the people in Ambler and the surrounding area to spend quality time with their family, neighbors and friends”, said Pat Strus, Co-President of Ambler Main Street, “Spending time in an historic town like Ambler is truly an experience for all ages. It feels like the way things used to be”.

PARKING IN AMBLER

Because Ambler has the busiest train station on the R5 rail line, we use meters for regulating parking. When commuters park their cars all day in the downtown, they take spaces away from our shoppers and visitors. The meters will help free up convenient spaces for shoppers and other visitors. That's the why of meters, now here's how to take advantage of them:

AMPLE NUMBER OF SPACES
247 spaces in the three Borough lots
146 spaces on the street within one block of downtown.

THREE CONVENIENT LOTS
On Lindenwold at Butler Ave., Cavalier at Butler Ave., and Butler at the Train Tracks

BARGAIN RATES
SUNDAYS AND AFTER 6 PM ARE ALWAYS FREE.
WEEKDAYS ARE ALSO FREE FROM 12-2PM
One dollar buys you 1 hour of parking on all meters.  You can pay for up to 2 hours with either coins or the Flowbird APP on your smart phone.
